Am a veteran warhorse who took early retirement from the Indian Army in 1997 after commanding my Regiment. In heart and soul I remain a serviceman – the bonds and camaraderie run deep and remain strong. I was a keen climber in the Himalayas when younger. Now days the love of nature and outdoors takes me trekking or river rafting when I can manage to get away. As the avatar would suggest, I enjoy golf.

I have always liked reading anything that is well written. There are some excellent writers on HubPages which is the reason I am here - to read a wide variety of entertaining and educative short hubs. Some of my friends insist that I can write too, and have goaded me into taking the first few tentative steps in that direction ...
